I think I have heard of situations like this where if your photo at all looks like you were trying to cash in on the opportunity then you'll get fired. I think there was a case years ago at the Golden Globes or one of these awards shows.

The only thing that doesn't make sense to me is why did they confirm him a month ago to do the same job again and then fire him a few weeks before? Why didn't they bring this attention to him last year?

Also he says he went viral but I don't remember him?

Looking at the videos and pics of him from last year....lol he did outshine Kylie if we compare pics!! He photographs and films very nicely (duh he's a model)
